Description

The norse god Thor lost his helmet while raiding in the south. NGC 2359, also known as Thor's Helmet nebula, is a nebula surrounding a Wolf-Rayet star located slightly into the southern hemisphere in the constellation Canis Major.

This is one of few nebulas that I know about that actually has a stronger signal in O-III compared to Ha, thus contributing to the turquoise bow-shock structure of the helmet itself.

Considering the fact that I am located at 60 deg north, it has been a challenge to balance the mount with the large telescope at this low altitude (-13 deg), this is why the sharpness isn't the best.
